Superb twinned chalcopyrite crystals, similar to one found at Mt Lyell in Tasmania. Mindat suggests chalcopyrite is doubtful from this locality.
Type Locality. Named for Robert (Bob) William Whitmore, a mineral collector and previous owner of the Palermo No.1 mine.
