This NEW SPECIES occurs as very tiny, grass-green to light green aggregates of coarse prismatic to acicular crystals on volcanic scoria, typically with darker green undefined Cu-sulfates and occasionally black tenorite. Formula: Cu4O(AsO4)2 ? orthorhombic – IMA #2013-023, dimorphous with triclinic ericlakerite but ortherwise a new structural type and unrelated to any other known species. The mineral was named for geographer and Cossack officer Ivan Petrovich Kozyrevskiy (1680-17334) one of the first investigators of Kamchatka and the Kuril Islands.
