Ex Michigan College of Mines Collection, number 6033. Ex A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum Collection, number DM14252. Ex Eugene Carmichael Collection, number EWC 482. 6033 and DM14252 both on specimen. Kranz label dates between 1850 and 1888. Michigan Mining School established in 1885. Michigan College of mines established in 1897. DM (Display Mineral) number instituted by curator Jean Peterman Kemp in the 1970s and continued by George Robinson for convenience (so that he didn’t have to renumber some 30,000 specimens!). The labels would suggest that this specimen dates to around 1885 to 1888.
