Tiny deep blue acicular buttgenbachite crystal sprays (centre of image) with green-blue gerhardtite. Width of view 3.5mm. Stack of 80 images. Ex Bernie Day Collection.
Analysis is required to distinguish between connellite (sulphate) and buttgenbachite (nitrate), which form a series. This specimen has not been analysed, but has a very high likelihood of being predominantly buttgenbachite as it occurs with gerhardtite, another nitrate species.
