Dark red crystals and coating of cinnabar on quartz. Width of view 11.5mm. Stack of 75 images. This one of mine was mis-labelled. It is an old specimen, and the label read “Cinnabar, Digg’s Peak, Swaziland”. Digg’s Peak has obviously been misread at some point as it should have been Pigg’s Peak. The actual location, according to Mindat, is Unnamed quarry, Bulembu (Havelock), Hhohho Region, Eswatini. This is roughly 12km east of Pigg’s Peak, and the only reference to cinnabar in the country.
